Hey everyone, I've just recently returned from my 2 week backpacking adventure in Nicaragua and I wanted to express what an amazing country it is for someone looking to get out and be active. Nicaragua is home to a seemingly endless supply of volcanoes that can be hiked up and, if you're brave enough, board down. The country is also full of killer surf breaks, amazing kite boarding, and world class diving. If you're more into exploring the land then you can hike through the jungle and come into contact with monkeys as well as some of the most amazing bird and butterfly species on earth. To top it all off, you can visit the Corn Islands to bask in the Caribbean sun. These islands were once frequented by the famous Captain Morgan, and are still believed to contain buried treasure - how cool is that! It's not all roses though. If you like good food, shopping, museums, bars, or luxury accommodation then Nicaragua is not the place for you. All in all it was a great trip.....time to start planning for the next one!
