It was an amazing day to be running a half marathon; clear and sunny day, not too hot, just right!! It was the first time I had ran the BMO and I was unsure of the course or what to expect, and having only ran yup to 13K in training I wasn't expecting my best run. However, as soon as I got going I felt great and with so many people running and supporting it was difficult not to feel motivated and push it a little. I finished at 1:48, felt really good after and felt inspired to train for another PB!
Official time was 1:58. Felt good for 15km then my right hip gave me some troubles. Battled for another 3km before I had to break race pace. Last 2 miles were high 9's.
After completing my fifth half marathon I realize that you have to train for the unexpected because you never know what to expect come race day.
Great job Al and Sofie
