PROFILE The pride of Vancouver, BC, Shannon Woeller started with the Whitecaps at just 16 years of age and is now in her fifth season. She's been a regular starter in the Canadian national team program for most of that time, and is noted for her superb passing ability, powerful shot, and ball-winning skills. Although Woeller will primarily be used as a defender, she is also able to play as a midfielder or as a striker.
VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC In 2008 - her first season with the Whitecaps - Woeller appeared in five matches for 230 minutes. Prior to joining the women's team, Woeller was a member of the Whitecaps Prospects program.
INTERNATIONAL U-20: As a member of Canada’s U-20 national side, Woeller played in eight matches and won a gold medal at the 2008 CONCACAF U-20 Women’s Championship in Puebla, Mexico. She also represented Canada at the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile. Senior: Woeller has made one appearance with Canada’s senior national team. On March 7, 2009, the defender appeared in a 2-1 victory versus the Netherlands in the Cyprus Cup.
COLLEGE Woeller enrolled at Rutgers University in New Jersey in January 2009. She will play her first season with the Scarlet Knights in September 2009.
