Troy Survives a Sweltering Ironman

iphone-007-small In a day that boasted temperatures in the mid 30's Celsius the 2011 Penticton Ironman proved to be a real test.  Not only is the race itself a test of physical endurance and mental toughness, but the sweltering heat added that little extra kick that made the day a real challenge.  Troy had a strong race finishing on par with last years time.  Afterwards he was feeling the effects of the heat and had to visit the medical tent, but then told me it was too packed with racers that really needed help (heat exhaustion, IV's, some people were a mess) so he sucked it up.  Hydration and recovering his electrolyte balance and some rest was what he needed anyways.  I will give everyone a full detailed account of the days events in our next newsletter.
