  1. It’s in your genetics – human beings were born to run. Our bodies thrive off of running. Blood pressure decreases, lowered bad cholesterol, better sleeping patterns, weight loss, improves mood; just a few of the benefits of regular running.
  2. Achieve a lifetime goal – such as running the New York City Marathon in 2012 – setting a goal helps you to commit to something new. If you sign up for the race you will be more likely to stick to the training, we’ll make sure you do.
  3. GWA is offering running programs – nothing like an easy to follow program to aid you in achieving your goal, just have to do your homework.
  4. 42 km really isn’t that long of a distance – when you break it down on average it’s only 4 hours 30 minutes for men and 5 hours 10 minutes for women. Think of it as 26 1-mile runs with a small break each mile if you need it.
  5. Training with other runners – the marathon is a solo event but the training can be really social, join our group runs and you’ll be looking forward to training.
  6. Can you think of a better way to see the city? – don’t think of the race as a marathon, think of it as a jogging tour of Manhattan.
  7. Train with us and stay healthy – proper strength training helps prevent running injuries, and there is nobody better suited to provide this for you than we are
  8. Extensive experience – the GWA family has countless hours of run training and racing experience, advice and encouragement is always free.
