When I decided to make a change to my lifestyle I had no idea where to start. I knew I was not happy with my current physical conditioning and current choices I was making with respect to my health. So where did I begin? Some people begin with purchasing a gym membership thinking that having a membership alone will be motivation enough to change. Unfortunately this is not always the case, it either works or it doesn’t and when it doesn’t this person is now locked into a contract paying for something they aren’t utilizing. What a waste!
So I started at home.
I searched up and came across many sites, blogs, and work out plans, coaches and trainers, when finally I came across a couple of trainers that had just recently begun their own YouTube channel called Fitness Blender and that led me to their site. The site was filled with videos that incorporated weighted and non weighted workout routines so I could do them at home. Each video differed from the next and not only where they diverse in the types of training and routines that they offered but the different length in times where what I found to be helpful. I would search up at home (insert body part here/type of workout) routine and umpteen videos would come up from the search with different lengths in time per workout. So this meant if I had an hour to spare I could easily find a routine that extended to the better part of an hour and if I only had 10, 15 or 20 minutes to spare then I could find a video that would do just what I was looking for in the amount of time I had to give. Of course I cannot give all the credit to Fitness Blender for the progress I made in the initial stages of my fitness journey; nutrition played a HUGE role and contribution to this. Yes you read it correctly, the rumors are true. Simply working out does not and will not guarantee a good physique or weight loss. It all begins in the kitchen, but I will save that for another blog. Moral of this story is whether you have a membership at a gym and don't have the time to go, are just starting your fitness journey or whatever your story may entail there is always a way to get active even if only for a few moments in a day and this is but one way to do so! ;)
So after losing a bit of weight and finding a real passion for staying active I decided to purchase a gym membership and learn more about weight training further my fitness journey. I have not looked back since. However, I do still utilize Fitness Blenders videos. They are absolutely perfect for those days when you don’t have an hour or two to make it to the gym, you’re at home with the kid(s), you’re working late …whatever the reason you can search up a quick 10 minute at home workout routine that suites your needs for that day!
