Matthew Ney - BKin, DSS, FMS
From an early age Matt has always had great a passion for sports. In particular, Matt competed at the collegiate level in baseball. Coming from an athletic background and having the exposure to a high-level athletic strength coach in his college career has helped lead Matt down the path of human kinetics. Throughout his academic and professional endeavours Matt has worked as a student athletic trainer with the UBC varsity women’s rugby team and as a medical staff intern with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Matt has received his diploma in sports science from Douglas College and his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. Additionally, Matt is certified in the Functional Movement Screen. During his studies Matt developed special interests in biomechanics, physiology and athletic injury rehabilitation. Matt believes in individualized, evidence based exercise conventions that can help optimize function and restore balance to the human body. Matt is motivated to provide personalized, challenging and enjoyable exercise prescriptions using functional exercise to every one of his clients.
Matt enjoys all things outdoors including: travelling, fishing, surfing, hiking, kayaking, & snowboarding.
