What is Nutrition Coaching?

This is not a meal plan, but a partnership centered on helping you make peace with food and your body while implementing healthy habits to optimize your nutrition, whether it’s for everyday life and longevity or performance in the gym and sports.

In a session, you can expect to discuss calories, macros, portion sizes, learning to read food labels, how to eat mindfully, health benefits of certain foods, food journals, and eating for fuel, to name a few. But we might not even talk about food at all, focusing instead on relationships, sleep, stress, work, kids, body image, and all the other things that affect how and what we eat.

Certified PT, Precision Nutrition Level 1 & 2 Coach

Meet Billy, our Nutrition Coach! Billy’s relationship with food could be described as going from famine to feast. He didn’t like a lot of varieties of food as a child. But, once he learned to connect food with what was important to him, his passions and goals, such as looking and feeling better, performing well in sports, work and social life, it took on a whole new dimension. 

After studying Athletic Therapy, and understanding how strength and conditioning can drive improvements in performance and sports, he wanted to learn more about the other side of the coin; nutrition and how it relates to body composition, vitality and longevity. 

He became a Precision Nutrition Level 1 & 2 Coach, and it has transformed how he coaches his clients. He has a relaxed and open approach to nutrition, which means finding what works best for his clients, which is based on sound nutritional principles. Clients often need to learn what is required for them to fulfil their goals. They can then benefit from having someone to support them through these changes, and provide the accountability that they may need. 

The most surprising (and fun) thing that clients learn from working with Billy, is that it is not a restrictive approach, and when done right, can help you fit the things you love and enjoy into your life, while you crush your health and fitness goals. 

For your first month, you will meet with your coach up to four times for 30 minutes to help you get started and begin establishing a baseline. After the first month, you and your coach will decide if you would like to continue with the same amount of in-person check-ins or if you’re confident with less direct supervision. Regardless of the tier you choose, you will always have direct access to your coach through email and text at any time. The cost of the monthly subscription will depend on the amount of in-person sessions.

Bi-weekly 30 minute in-person check-ins + email check-ins the other two weeks.

What to expect in your free 60 minute assessment:

This is your hour to learn about yourself and food in a non-judgemental environment to evaluate where you’re thriving and struggling, so we can meet you on your level. Expect to answer questions about your goals, dieting history, current nutrition, and external factors that may be affecting how and what you eat. This will allow our coaches to get to know you as an individual, so we can recommend tailored solutions.

All of this can even be done from the comfort of your home! Assessments and sessions can be conducted in-person at our downtown Vancouver location, or you can meet with your coach virtually if you’re traveling or live out of town.
